  • 1 lb Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 1 cup Chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup Chopped carrots
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 0.5 cup Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 cup Egg noodles

Preparation Steps

  • Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add the onion, green bell pepper, and carrots to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  • Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and add to the skillet with the sauce.
  • Stir to combine and heat through. Serve hot.

Notes

For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. You can also add other vegetables, such as mushrooms or zucchini.
