Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, 1/2 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Pour the apple mixture into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, cinnamon, and salt.
Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apple filling.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Let cool slightly before serving.
