  • 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup cold unsalted butter cut into small pieces

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, 1/2 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Pour the apple mixture into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apple filling.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
