  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth. Bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in chicken, ham, and cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, or until heated through.
  • Stir in heavy cream and heat through. Serve hot.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
