Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, oil, eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

Notes

For an extra lemony flavor, add a tablespoon of lemon extract to the batter. You can also use a lemon glaze or frosting to top the cake.
