Crust Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter cut into cubes
  • 0.5 cups ice water

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecans toasted

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the crust by combining flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing until dough comes together. Press into a baking pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir in pecans.
  • Pour filling over the crust. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and set.
  • Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
